Prescribing Citizens Advice

Prescribing Citizens Advice is able to support local Health Commissioners and reduce workload pressures on

GPs and others by helping with the non-medical problems which frequently impact on health.

Our Advisers have been working with Primary Health Care Teams for 20 years now and they are busier than ever.

Currently funded by Welsh Government with a contribution from Powys Teaching Health Board, advisers visit:

· Llanfyllin

· Welshpool

· Llanidloes

· Presteigne

· Llandrindod Wells

· Talgarth

Medical Centres.

The service is available to all registered patients

and Citizens Advice input has become an integral

part of primary care.

Patients who need confidential advice on non-medical problems should ask at

the surgery reception for an appointment with the Citizens Advice adviser who visits the surgery.

Advice is free, confidential, independent and impartial.

Advisers can assist with:

· Benefit checks and filling in claim forms

· Disputing benefit decisions

· Writing letters

· Negotiating with creditors

and much more.
