How do you contact the service or refer your customers to the service?

There are two ways to make contact with the service:

Face to Face Money Advice Service

Helping people make the most out of whatever money they have


What is it?

The Money Advice Service provides free, impartial money advice tailored to individual needs and circumstances. This is done in 45 minute face to face sessions delivered in venues across Powys. 

From insurance to pensions, mortgages to borrowing, if people need help putting together a budget or understanding tax and welfare benefits, the trained Money Advisers will go through the options and help draw up an action plan.

Money Advisers are impartial, and won’t try to sell anything but will give clear, in-depth information.

 Who is it for?

Everyone – the service is open to all, and there are no criteria for accessing the service. We particularly want to reach people who are financially vulnerable who may lack the confidence or the necessary skills to make sure the money they have works for them.

We are also keen to engage with people at key life-changing stages such as:

·     reduced income

·     starting work

·     approaching retirement

·     redundancy

·     relationship breakdown

We also work with partners from businesses where staff may be on low incomes or work part time.

Who should be referred?

Money advice can help your customers to:

     prepare a weekly or monthly budget

     learn about the different types of mortgage

     find out about savings options

     plan for retirement

     understand the tax and welfare benefits systems

     know about the different types of credit available

     protect their families with insurance for themselves, their relatives, car and home.
